Note 3: Make sure you have done the steps below also, I had done this before I found the post from Acheron.ġ. Also on a side note, Steam needs to be running still to play Max Payne 3. and point it to the MaxPayne3.exe as a substitute. link on bottom left of the Steam interface and select Add a non-Steam Game. Note 2: You must run the game from the MaxPayne3.exe file in the MaxPayne3 folder after this fix, as Steam will tell you the MaxPayne3.exe is unavailable if you try to launch it from your Steam Games Library. Note: Once I did this I had zero problems associating my Steam account with the social club app in game, so this is a possible fix for people with that issue also. This gave me all my games from that folder back, as the folder is now correctly associated with Steam again.
I started an install of one of the games that was now missing from my Steam games library and selected the option for a new Steam folder and directed it to my renamed "SteamLibrary2". When I reloaded Steam the games from that folder where missing. I currently use 3 install locations for my Steam games, one of them is "Steam Library 2", I just renamed it without spaces "SteamLibrary2". If you choose to rename an existing folder Steam folder, below are some instructions to reassociate the renamed folder with Steam. May or may not make a difference, but we may as well cover all bases. Make sure to check Note 3 at the bottom of this post, they're all things I had done as part of earlier trouble shooting, before I found Acheron's post. But after some serious searching and trouble shooting, I came across an awesome post from Steam user Acheron. I was having a great deal of trouble getting this game to run.
